Indianapolis, IN Able Kompanie's GenCon 2019 Events and Tournaments

Post by USChris » Tue Apr 30, 2019 8:50 pm

Able Kompanie is happy to announce our Tournaments and Events at GenCon 2019 taking place August 1-4 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Here is the list of our offerings:

Tournaments

Thursday August 1 1525pts. Early War & 72pts. Team Yankee
Friday August 2 89pts. Mid War
Saturday August 3 100pts. LW

Each day we will have 28 Player Slots for the Tournaments. This will be split between the two Tournaments on Thursday based on demand.
Each day will be a 3 Round Tournament. All Rounds will be 2 ½ Hours Long.

Battle Plans from the More Missions Packet will be used to determine Missions. The More Missions packet can be found at https://www.flamesofwar.com/portals/0/D ... ssions.pdf

We will try to keep pairings Red vs. Blue but numbers attending for each side and VP Scores may mean Blue vs. Blue will occur. The top two players will play each other in the last round, if they haven’t already played, regardless of Axis/Allies.

UPDATE: ONLY LISTS FOR FORTRESS EUROPE WILL BE LEGAL FOR THIS TOURNAMENT. No D-Day Lists or Command Cards may be used as the US book will have been out for less than 30 days prior to the Con.

Lists should be sent to ablekompanie@yahoo.com

There will be prize support and trophies.

We will again have a special IronMan Award for the Player who scores the most VPs over the weekend.

Events:
Each Day we will offer the following event games:

Stalingrad (MW) – We will be bringing back our great terrain board for Stalingrad with Forces brought up to V4. This will be a 2 on 2 Game with everything needed provided by us. We will have GMs to run the event so it will be a great intro to Flames of War. This event will run twice a day Thursday – Saturday

WW2 for Beginners (LW) This will be a 2 on 2 Player Western Front game and similar to Stalingrad will be an Intro for new Players. We will be designing it once the Fortress Europe Book has been released. It also will run twice a day Thursday – Saturday.

TANKS! – We will have two tables of LW Tanks games running once each day. Again we will provide all forces and GMs to teach.

HOW TO SIGN UP FOR THESE EVENTS – You must purchase tickets for all of our Tournaments and Events through GenCon www.gencon.com. Tickets will go on sale on May 19th. I cannot hold slots for players nor will I be able to set up a waiting list until the day of the events so please get your tickets from GenCon. In past years all of our Event Games have sold out on the first day of sales. The Tournaments fill up much slower with many being sold out in the week or two before the Con.

Chris, a little off topic, but have you heard if the local store will be doing the shuttle again this year? Thanks.

Jim,
I haven't heard about the shuttle as yet from Family Time Games. If you are interested you might want to contact them directly. I know it has not been paying for itself so far so the more demand he hears for it may help his decision. Seems like it would be convenient for those of you who live up I-65.
