Hello everyone here is the posting for a planned Flames of War tournament at Game Table Adventures on February 16th. Details are on the event page. This will be a primer for the Flames of War tournament at Cincycon so details may change between now and the date of the event.

Game Table Adventures Flames of War Tournament February 2019

Location: Game Table Adventures 400 Granville Street Newark Ohio 43055

Date: February 16th (Saturday)

Start Time: 10:15am. Players should arrive by 10:00am, please call Anthony Burger (405-880-1108) if you are running late.

Rules: Flames of War V4, Midwar 109 points, up to 3 formations.

From West Virginia or further East - Take Interstate 70 West to 79 North, take 16 West to 21st street exit, turn right. Then turn right onto Granville Street

Tournament details
Number of player openings: 30
The tournament is 3 rounds, 2.5 hours each, with 30 minutes for lunch after the first round. The tournament should end around 8:00pm.

Fee for the tournament is $20, this will go towards prize support as well as lunch (deli sandwiches) for the players. Money should be given to Anthony Burger directly.

Players should contact Anthony Burger if they plan on attending. An event posting will be on the HMGS-GL facebook page as well as the Battle Rankings forums to track who has registered and payed. Players should let the TO know they are attending.
There will be a reserve list if more than 30 people sign up. Players should let Anthony Burger know if they are dropping or can’t play asap, so reserve players can be notified.
If we have an odd number I (Anthony Burger) or a sub will play. If more than 12 players and an odd number, a player will have the option to drop and be repaid in full.

Players should bring 3 identical physical copies of their list. Digital supplements/lists on tablets are welcome but physical lists are required. Players should print off their lists before arriving. Players will use the same list for the entire tournament. Players should email their list to Anthony Burger (elburgo_1850@outlook.com) by February 9th at 11:59pm to be reviewed for an extra sportsmanship point.

Players must also bring a copy of:
• The Flames of War V4 Rulebook (mini or standard size)
• Forces book their list came from (multiple if using more than one nation)
• Any Errata related to the rules or their force(s)
Players should also bring dice, tokens, template, measuring tape, objectives, rule supplements or anything else they might need to play their army.
Armies don’t need to be fully painted or based but this will be part of the tournaments scoring. WYSIWIG in terms of models is enforced (For example a Tiger I needs to be a Tiger 1, it cannot stand in for a Tiger 2, exceptions are noted below). Players should inform their opponents of any specialized teams, or special rules before their games(s) starts.

Missions will be determined the Flames of War more mission packet on Battlefront’s website. I recommend players print off the more missions packet. The link for the mission packet is below. Players can select a single stance (Attack, Maneuver, Defend) twice per tournament. If one or both players during a mission have previously played a mission, reroll the mission selection. Tokens will be provided to indicate choice.

Any questions should go to Anthony Burger, elburgo_1850@outlook.com

The results of the tournament will be posted to Battlerankings.com. Note that results posted to Battlerankings may be different from tournament standing, as the former emphasis gameplay score.
See the Facebook page Columbus Area Flames of War and Battlerankings.com for additional details.
Any arguments or rule questions should be attempted to be resolved by first checking the rulebook, the players should then refer to the tournament organizer(s) (Anthony Burger).

Players will be scored 3 ways:
Gameplay: Wins, as determined by victory conditions, wins be scored as 9 points, ties as 6 points, losses as 3 points. This is something I’m testing.
Painting/Hobby: This will be according to the looks at aesthetic according to peers and judges. A display board is not required and will not be scored but is useful for carrying models. At the end of the second round, players should leave their armies out to be judged by both official painting judges and peers. Official judging will be done by Anthony Burger and one other person who doesn’t play Flames of War. Max points 7
Painting/Hobby points will be awarded as follows:
100% of army painted and 100% of army based (1 point).
A coherent color and basing scheme is used in army (exception for aerial units and units of a different nation) (1 point).
Army is highlighted and shaded (at least 50% of army) (1 point).
Army has decals or other iconography and/or custom basing (at least 50% of army) (1 point)
Army has a name and unit history. Players should have a name and least a paragraph about their force. (1 point).
Players pick. Players will write down which army they think looks the best. The army with the most votes will get 2 points. (2 points). In the case of ties, each player(s) get a point

Sportsmanship: At the end of the tournament each player writes down on a piece of paper their name and their 3 opponents based on how enjoyable the game was. Players can distribute up to 6 points, in increments of 2,1,0. A point will be added by the tournament organizer submitting their list early. Max points 7

There will be awards for best general, hobbyist, sport, and overall (the highest scoring of all 3 categories combined, As well as best Allied player and best Axis player. Ties in each category will be broken first by gaming, then hobby, then sport. Prize support will be based on the number of attendees.

Hello everyone. Due the large number of players attending I was wondering if players could provide their sandwich orders and lists a little early. Several players not on the main list have contacted me and I want to make sure they have a chance to enter if there is space. Thus if players could send me their sandwich orders and lists by the 11th, eastern time at midnight, that would be greatly appreciated. If there are spaces available after I check everyone off the main list I will contact players on the reserve list. If you are currently on the reserve list send your sandwich order and list as well. Details on sandwich orders are below. I will be posting the score sheet later this week. Please contact me if you have any questions.

Food and drink will be provided (part of the tournament fee). Drinks will be soda or water from Game Table Adventures. Food will be a sandwich from Ashery farms, an Amish deli. Below I have posted a link to their sandwich options. In addition to meat and cheese choices also pick your choice of bread (white, wheat, herb), toppings (tomato, onion, lettuce, pickles), and condiments (mayo, mustard, dijon mustard, spicy mustard, horseradish sauce). Please message or email your sandwich order to me by February 11th. Let me know if you don't want a sandwich and/or drink. I will provide pizza for those who don't request a sandwich. http://asheryfarms.com/products/cat/2/deli/

Also if you want an extra sportsmanship point for sending your list early, I need it by February 11th.
